Following a strong start to the season, May promises to be another exciting and action-packed month for Avenue BC.
The club celebrated its first Kineton and District League (KDL) victory of the season with an impressive win over Fenny Compton BC, setting the tone for the weeks ahead.
Over the May Bank Holiday weekend, several Avenue bowlers also competed in the Mark Wilson Pairs event at Essex County BC, in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association. A notable performance came from brothers Declan Maries (Whitnash BC) and Aiden Maries, who reached the Plate Final before losing out to Suffolk’s John Rednall and Elliot Last.

Attention now turns to a packed schedule of fixtures and competitions. Avenue face an away trip to Matrix BC in the first round of the Cov 6 Cup, while also beginning our Pickering League campaign with opening matches against RLS BC’s second and first teams.
KDL action continues throughout the month, including home fixtures against Newbold BC and Wellesbourne BC, alongside an away visit to Chipping Campden BC.
Beyond team fixtures, many Avenue players will be competing in a wide range of Warwickshire county competitions, including:
- Men’s Unbadged Singles
- Men’s Fours
- Men’s Two Bowl Singles
- Men’s Triples
- Mixed Pairs
- Women’s Triples
- Women’s Senior Fours
Avenue bowlers are also taking part in National competitions, adding further excitement to an already busy month.
