As spring arrives, there’s a real sense of anticipation at Avenue BC as preparations come to an end and the 2026 season gets underway.

The green officially opens on Friday 17th April from 6pm, giving members their first chance to bowl following the off-season. A huge amount of work has gone into preparing the green, and thanks goes to JD Greenkeeping and James Cooper for their fantastic efforts over the winter. Thanks also go to those members who have helped with cleaning and preparing the clubhouse ready for the season.

The clubhouse bar will be open, making it the perfect opportunity for members to enjoy a drink, catch up, and ease into the season ahead.

Match action will begin swiftly, with the club’s first friendly fixture taking place away at Wolvey BC on Saturday 18th April. Attention then turns to league competition, as Avenue hosts Southam BC in the opening Kineton District League match on Thursday 23rd April. The busy start continues with another home fixture against Solihull Municipal on Saturday 25th April.

Looking ahead to May, the season really gathers pace with Warwickshire county competitions getting underway, alongside a full schedule of league matches and friendlies.

Anyone interested in following the season can view the full 2026 calendar online, while those who are new to bowls and keen to give it a try are warmly encouraged to get in touch – Avenue Bowls Club is always pleased to welcome new members.
