A tough afternoon for the Avenue trio on Rink D4. Despite battling hard, they struggled to contain a consistent RLS side who steadily pulled away to record a comfortable win.
Rink D5
- Avenue Team: Peter Hooper (Lead), Graham Parker, John Hughes (Skip)
- Result: Avenue 12 – 28 RLS
On Rink D5, Avenue made a brighter start but were unable to maintain momentum. A strong middle section from RLS saw them open up a commanding lead, and despite some good ends towards the finish, Avenue were unable to close the gap.
Rink D6
- Avenue Team: Colin Thomas (Lead), Richard Muir, Rick Hayes (Skip)
- Result: Avenue 13 – 24 RLS
The Avenue team on Rink D6 produced the club’s closest result of the evening, staying competitive throughout. However, RLS’s greater consistency proved decisive over the closing stages, leading to an 11-shot defeat.
Overall Match Summary
While the final results went in RLS’s favour across all three rinks, Avenue showed good spirit throughout and will take valuable experience into their upcoming matches.
